The system has three pools, two of them being cenote types, the third one being a dry cave hosting a colony of bats. From the main pool two wide tunnels of about 80 meters (264 Ft) lead to the second pool, the average depth is 12 meters (40 ft) with maximum depth of 14 meters (46 ft). Although they run in parallel they are very different, one being dark rock nicely decorated, the other being yellowish softer limestone with many fossils incrusted in it. A third tunnel leaves the main pool on the opposite side; it comes to a dead-end after 110 meters (363 ft), an air bell well, decorated with pure white formation, cover two thirds of it.
The depth is 12 meters (40 ft) for 15 meters (50 ft) across. From that third tunnel a minor restriction opens up into another wide tunnel sloping up from 22 meters (72 ft) to 10 meters (33ft), some stunning columns can be seen as well as stalactites & stalagmites. 110 meters further in, a room opens up, to the left a breakdown slope starts from a small air pocket. Around that area the exercised eye will notice some cave fauna (remipedes, amphipods). Two tunnels branch out from the room, one finishes 40
meters (132 ft) later by a breakdown slope; the other goes all the way to exit in the bats cave, in some areas the floor is cover by bones & skulls probably of bats. Close to the end a small tunnel branches out to the left, after a minor restriction it ends up by a canyon.
History: Certainly the best know & most popular cave of the north coast El Dudu as been dive since 1993, Michel Bonin was the first to use the cave commercially, at the time there wasn't any step (they where build in 1995), so he was using rope to get the equipment down to the water. Horst Julius explored the main tunnel to 80 meters (264 feet) past the room between 1995 and 1999. It's not until the 2 April 1999 that Bobby Pritchett & Denis Bourret made the connection dive to the bats cave. On the same dive they explored the side passage that end as a canyon. A few survey dives where made by Bobby Pritchett, Karen Ghorayeb, Juan-Carlos Alvares & Denis Bourret, the survey is still not completed.
